Together, we are building a memory culture of the Czech-German past!
For three years, we have supported 11 organisations with the aim of broadening the horizons of our memory. Czech and German civic initiatives and their ideas to enrich the landscape of memory. They discovered unknown places of shared history, preserved the memories of eyewitnesses, and passed them on to young people. They used modern technology to expand into the digital dimension. They revived the stories of our ancestors and carried their legacy from generation to generation. They opened up 11 different paths to preserving the continuity of historical memory.
Are you curious about what they have achieved? And what traces they have left in the memory landscape?
They have successfully conveyed the personal experiences of witnesses of the last 80 years to young people through innovative and creative approaches. They have shown the parallels between the totalitarian regimes of the 20th century and negative phenomena and conflicts in contemporary society. They have shared these with the public using new methods and formats. They have transferred the memory of the shared Czech-German past onto digital platforms.
We are pleased to introduce 11 civic memory organisations
